Dave Willetts - Les Miserables Masterclass

On Saturday November 18th we were thrilled to present a Les Miserables Masterclass with West End legend Dave Willetts

It was a pleasure to be joined by some new faces for the day and we kicked off with a vocal warm up and some brain games.

Dave then answered questions about all aspects of musical theatre and his career. It's a rare opportunity to find out how the industry works from someone at the top.

Next it was audition time, with the opportunity for everyone to audition for the featured parts in 'One Day More' Everyone who auditioned was given tips and feedback on their performance along with very valuable audition techniques.

The participants were left spellbound when Dave took to the floor to demonstrate how you can turn a song into a performance. This left no one in doubt as to why he is regarding as one of the worlds best leading men.

With the audition process complete the hard work began transforming 3 songs into a theatrical production.

No costumes or props were needed this was all going to be about the acting. Barely stopping for lunch the detail started to emerge and by 5.30 we were ready for our intimate performance, which was very warmly received.

I'm sure everyone who took part gained so much from working with a true master of musical theatre, who also happens to be one of the nicest people you could meet.
